CLASSIC GIRLS SELECTED FOR THE 2008 BOB HOPE CLASSIC

After a day of interviewing 49 eager applicants at The Falls in Palm Springs, the Bob Hope Classic judges have chosen the 2008 Classic Girls. Judges included several members of the Bob Hope Classic Board of Directors, Classic staff member Janine Iezzi and Caroldean Ross of Caroldean El Paseo. Caroldean is a Classic Girl Alumni (Hope-1982) and the clothing sponsor for the girls. Having her as one of the judges helped make the tryout process even more exciting.

Emily Harrison (Hope), Colie Cullen (Chrysler) and Kelsey Peterson (Classic) will represent this premier event as the traditional goodwill ambassadors. They will be seen on the courses throughout the tournament and at all of the Classic's special events and promotions. These three articulate, beautiful, poised women have goals of becoming more active in their community and are excited to hold the honor of bearing the Classic Girl names.

Emily "Hope" Harrison, 30 years old, is excited to share in the rich tradition and fun of the Hope Classic. Born in Missouri, she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia before moving to Los Angeles to embark on an acting career. Her journey in the entertainment industry has included a regular role in daytime television (Bold and the Beautiful), starring roles in primetime television (CSI:NY, ER) and a growing film resume. Emily starred in two films recently featured at the Palm Springs Short Film Festival and was last seen on the big screen starring in Valley of the Heart's Delight opposite Bruce McGill. Her next appearance on film is the independent drama Take with Minnie Driver. Since moving to the desert, Emily has been in high demand as a model and is currently developing a short film comedy based on her experiences in the Palm Springs fashion world. In her free time Emily loves to cook.

Colie "Chrysler" Cullen, 20 years old, has lived in the desert for the past nine years. Beginning at a young age, being involved in school activities has been very important to her. In elementary school, she was the student body president. At Palm Desert Middle she was active in the yearbook staff and the Associated Student Body. While attending Palm Desert High School, Colie was a member of "Youth and Government", a program that gives high school students the opportunity to experience California's legislative process first hand. She has received invitations from the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC to join other students interested in politics. She is a full time student at College of the Desert, maintaining a 3.8 GPA, and plans to major in marketing and communications. She enjoys playing tennis, shopping, going to the driving range and attending concerts. Above all, she loves fashion, music, and making people laugh.

Kelsey "Classic" Peterson, is a fun, outgoing 20 year old student from Huntington Beach, CA. She is studying Art and Business at CSULB, and enjoys every minute. She works at a small bakery where she uses her artistic ability to create beautiful and delicious cupcakes. Spending time with family and friends is her favorite way to use her limited spare time. She has a passion for dancing and singing and plans on making every moment in life worth living. Kelsey is the daughter of a 1969 Classic Girl and is proud to be following in her mother's footsteps. Like her mother before her, she considers her role as "Classic" to be an honor.
