CLASSIC GIRLS SELECTED FOR THE 2005 BOB HOPE CLASSIC
Rancho Mirage, California--After a day of interviewing a group of 30 eager applicants at the Annenberg Center at EMC, the Bob Hope Classic Board has chosen the 2005 Classic Girls. Christina Loren (Hope), Kimber Davis (Chrysler) and Jennifer Dufour (Classic) will represent this premier event as the traditional goodwill ambassadors. They will be seen on the courses throughout the tournament and at many of the Classic’s special events and promotions. These three intelligent, articulate and poised women all have goals of becoming more active in their community.
Loren, 24, was born and raised in the desert. She is currently an intern for CBS2 and hopes to be on the air soon as a weathercaster. She is also employed at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Palm Desert. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from CSU Chico and has finished one year of graduate school studying Meteorology. She enjoys watching the news and doing anything social. When asked how she felt about being a Classic Girl she said, “It will be one of the highlights of my life. I am excited about representing such a prestigious event!”
Davis, 25, was born in Downey, CA and raised in Villa Park, CA. She moved to the desert about a year ago. She graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Over the summer, she had the opportunity to work as the Marketing Assistant for the X Games in Los Angeles as well as assisting with the ESPY Celebrity Golf Tournament. She is currently working at Delightful Pool Care and part time at the Jetty in Palm Desert. She plans to pursue a career in the sports industry. She enjoys waterskiing, hiking, traveling, swimming and horseback riding. When Davis was asked how she feels about the Classic she said, “It is one of the most exciting weeks out of the year and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
Dufour, 19, was born in North Hollywood and raised in Valencia. She moved to the desert about 4 months ago and is currently working at the Greg Norman course at PGA West. She is attending COD and majoring in Business. Her hobbies include golfing, snowboarding, dancing, gymnastics, traveling and painting. When asked Dufour said, “I am so excited to be part of the tradition.”
The Bob Hope Classic will take place January 26th through the 30th, 2005. In 45 years the tournament has donated over $40 million to local charities in the Coachella Valley.
