BOB HOPE CLASSIC STORE TO OPEN FRIDAY, NOV. 27 IN OLD TOWN LA QUINTA
La Quinta, Calif. - The grand opening of the Bob Hope Classic Store in Old Town La Quinta is Friday, Nov. 27. Anyone making a purchase in the store that day can buy two tickets to the 2010 Bob Hope Classic (Jan. 18-24) for the price of one. The new Classic Girls will make an appearance at the store on opening day at 10 a.m.
The museum and retail store will be managed by long-time golf retailer Lumpy's.
"We are delighted to once again be asked to partner with the Bob Hope Classic, knowing that our support helps the tournament contribute in a positive way to our community," said Randy Corti, owner of Lumpy's. "We encourage guests to bring their cameras and take a photo with the famous Hope caricature golf cart."
The store will feature a special clothing line and other unique gift items - perfect for holiday shopping. Many one-of-a-kind, commemorative items will also be on sale. The museum and retail store will showcase memorabilia from the Bob Hope Classic celebrity golf tournament, including Hope's famous caricature golf cart. All types of tickets to the Bob Hope Classic will be offered at the store as well.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Bob Hope Classic for the second year - it's a 'hole in one' for Old Town La Quinta and the tournament," said Leslie Locken, property manager of Old Town La Quinta.
"We're pleased to be providing a prime location storefront right on La Quinta's Main Street which will give the Classic excellent exposure right in the heart of town. And we're excited about the promotional opportunities Old Town will receive in return, as this new store will attract more visitors and residents to the shops, restaurants, salons and services of Old Town La Quinta."
"We're excited to have the Bob Hope Classic tournament here," La Quinta Mayor Don Adolph said. "The opportunity for the city to have all four courses in this year's tournament played in La Quinta is good for the city and the community. We hope it will encourage spectators to stay, eat and play in our wonderful city."
